Temperatures are hitting 60 today and New Yorkers can’t get enough of the great outdoors. Make the most of the sun this spring by taking your workout to some of the city’s best outdoor workout spots. Here are our favorite places to get sweaty!

1. The High Line

The freight railway turned elevated pedestrian park is a great place to get in a run 30 feet above traffic while enjoying excellent city views. It can get pretty crowded, but if you go when it opens – 7 am – you shouldn’t have a problem getting a few miles in before the tourists show up.

2. Playgrounds

Some of the best conditioning exercises can happen right in your neighborhood playground. Strengthen and tone with reps of crunches, pull-ups, and dips while having fun on the monkey bars and rings.

3. Rooftops

You go to rooftop bars, so why not do a rooftop workout? Your roof is the perfect place to enjoy a sunny morning of exercise. Don’t have access to one? Try a rooftop yoga class at Clay, YoYoga, or Creative Energy.

4. Central Park

Kind of a given, but in addition to using the miles and miles of track to run, walk, or bike, there are also dozens of fitness classes available. Boot camps are especially popular, as are zumba, tai chi, yoga…pretty much anything you can imagine. If none of this sounds appealing, grab a few friends and a frisbee and head to Sheep Meadow.

5. The Piers

The public piers in this city offer so many fun ways to get in your daily dose of activity…free kayaking, bike rentals, adult soccer leagues, and a personal favorite, trapeze classes. When you’re done, take a stroll along the river to cool down.
