An 8-year veteran of the physical therapy and movement world, Joe joined Physiofitness in October 2017 as Clinical Director. In addition to treating clients, Joe will be responsible for managing the Physiofitness brand of care to ensure we are bringing the latest treatments and methods to all our clients.
Joe comes to us from the Perfect Stride PT in Union Square where he was Clinical Director and specialized in treating a wide variety of complex musculoskeletal and sports related injuries. A board certified orthopedic clinical specialist, Joe is known for his efficient and accurate evaluative process, his excellent manual therapy skills and most importantly his passion for empowering his clients.
Joe’s clinical approach adheres to the philosophy that people should be empowered by medicine, not depend on it. Incorporating lifestyle modification, environmental factors and the mind-body connection, Joe believes that PT should complement all facets of people’s lives so they can better understand how to take care of themselves and live (and move) better.
Joe has extensive post-graduate education in movement assessment and manual therapy and holds multiple certifications, including the Functional Release® Technique, Functional Range Conditioning®, the Selective Functional Movement Assessment™, and the Functional Movement Screen™. He is also a Certified Functional Strength Coach and a Fascial Movement Taping instructor for Rocktape.
Joe is also one of the first certified Kinstretch instructors in the country, and along with James and DJ, will continue to expand this program and class offering for Physio clients.
Joe graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2010. In his spare time, Joe enjoys spending time with his daughter, traveling, and reading – but makes sure he always has time for training as well.
